Farasis Energy Europe restructures leadership
Frickenhausen near Stuttgart, Germany, February, 03, 2022 – Dr. Stefan Bergold has been appointed General Manager of Farasis Energy Europe, effective immediately. He reports to Dr. Keith Kepler, CTO and co-founder of Farasis Energy. With this step, the European subsidiary will be able to serve the dynamic growth market even better than before. Kepler and Bergold will also assume key functions for Siro, the joint venture between Farasis and Togg: Kepler as Vice Chairman of the Board, Bergold as Member of the Board.
Dr. Stefan Bergold, who has been with Farasis Energy since May 2021, initially helped lead Farasis Energy Europe on an interim basis on August 1 last year. As of January 1, 2022, Bergold is now the sole General Manager at Farasis Energy Europe and reports in his new role directly to Dr. Keith Kepler, CTO and co-founder of Farasis Energy.
Since the formation of Siro in the fall of 2021, the joint venture between Farasis and Togg, Kepler has also assumed oversight of Siro as Vice Chairman of the Board, together with Gürcan Karakaş, Chairperson of the Board. Bergold has been appointed Member of the Board at Siro.
Farasis Energy is a leading supplier of innovative lithium-ion battery technology and pouch cells for electric mobility and other power storage applications. The company was founded in 2002 in the USA and today operates research and development centers in China, Germany and the USA as well as two production facilities in Ganzhou and Zhenjiang (China) with a current total capacity of 21 GWh/a. Additional plants are currently under construction. In 2019, the European subsidiary Farasis Energy Europe was founded with headquarters in Frickenhausen near Stuttgart. The joint venture between Farasis and Togg was sealed in September 2021. The goal is to build a battery factory in the European Free Trade Zone in Gemlik in northwestern Turkey. Construction is already underway and production is expected to start in 2023.
