Founded in 2002, Farasis Energy is a global leader in lithium-ion battery technology, focusing on high-performance, safe, and sustainable energy storage solutions. Farasis Energy Europe GmbH was established to drive the transition toward sustainable energy solutions in Europe. The European branch was set up to cater to the growing demand for advanced battery systems in the region, supporting the automotive and industrial sectors in their electrification journey. With a strong commitment to innovation, environmental responsibility, and cutting-edge research, we aim to accelerate the adoption of clean energy by delivering state-of-the-art battery solutions tailored to the needs of the European market.

Farasis Energy is transforming the battery industry with a strong global presence. From Silicon Valley, USA, where pioneering research fuels innovation, to Stuttgart, Germany, driving advancements in European battery technology, we are actively shaping key markets. In Gemlik, Turkey, our joint venture with Turkish automaker Togg strengthens the regional supply chain with a 40GWh capacity. Meanwhile, our Ganzhou, China headquarters spearheads global operations, housing a 5GWh facility alongside a new 30GWh manufacturing hub. With additional large-scale production sites in Zhenjiang (24GWh) and Guangzhou (30GWh), we remain dedicated to delivering sustainable, high-performance energy solutions across North America, Europe, and Asia.


History

Farasis Energy Milestones
Farasis Energy successfully grew into one of the leading global lithium-ion pouch cell suppliers. We endeavor to rapidly expand our global production capacities and footprint.

2002

Dr. Keith Kepler and Dr. Yu Wang founded Farasis Energy in Silicon Valley, California.

2009

Farasis founds a R&D and manufacturing facility in Ganzhou, Jiangxi, China, kicking off an international journey.

2011

Farasis begins supplying battery systems to world-class electric powersport vehicle manufacturers, like Polaris.

2016

Farasis enters the Chinese automotive industry, providing large-scale batteries to Chinese car manufacturers.

2018

  • Farasis receives substantial funding to continue R&D efforts and establishes a strategic partnership with Mercedes-Benz.
  • Farasis Energy Europe GmbH was strategically founded in Frickenhausen, supporting European customers.

2020

  • Farasis launches mass production in Zhenjiang, China and begins supplying battery systems to e-VTOL aircraft manufacturers.
  • Farasis was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange

2021

  • Farasis was ranked No. 1 domestically in consumption volume of Li-ion pouch batteries for 5 consecutive years
  • Farasis established joint ventures with Geely Technology Group in Ganzhou and Siro in Turkey
  • Lithium-ion cell manufacturing project in Wuhu, Anhui Province, China

2023

  • Farasis launched its 30GWh project in Guangzhou.
  • Farasis ranked among the top 8 globally in EV battery installed capacity.
  • Farasis introduced the first sodium-ion battery for EV customers.
  • Farasis became the first in the world to deliver an eVTOL to an end customer.

2024

  • Farasis Super Pouch Solution (SPS) equips a wide range of vehicle models
  • Farasis partners with multiple leading eVTOL companies
  • Farasis signs strategic Solid-State Battery Cooperation with several renowned automakers
  • Farasis Pouch cell installed capacity ranked first in China for eight consecutive years

  • Farasis Energy has signed a strategic partnership with BMS supplier Eberspächer.
