Farasis Energy Europe GmbH, a leading developer of lithium-ion battery technology for mobility, industrial, and energy storage applications, and Cling Systems AB, a Swedish start-up accelerating battery circularity, have announced a strategic partnership. The collaboration supports Farasis’ sustainability goals while advancing Cling’s mission to build commercially viable, circular battery value chains. Through this partnership, Cling will market and sell Farasis’ second-life and unused cells and modules on its market platform – S1 – for use in high-end battery energy storage systems (BESS). In doing so, it will support the electrification of underdeveloped markets and provide backup to critical infrastructure.

S1, the first circular market platform for batteries, enables companies that build energy storage systems to diversify their supply chains, reduce costs, and cut carbon footprint.

“This is the industry’s first structured ambition to route OEM-grade batteries to flow directly into stationary storage in order to maximise value and sustainability,” said William Bergh, Founder and CEO of Cling Systems. “Together with Farasis we’re proving that circularity can be both sustainable and commercially attractive, starting today.”

Xiaofeng (Shawn) Wu, Head of Operation, Farasis Energy Europe added: “Every kilowatt-hour we upcycle into long-life storage saves raw materials and reduces CO emissions. Partnering with Cling gives us a turnkey channel to do that at scale.”

About Cling Systems AB: Stockholm-based Cling Systems builds digital infrastructure that turns idle batteries into active assets. Its S1 platform connects vetted buyers and sellers, automates compliance, and shortens transaction cycles for cells, modules and packs.
